Vocabulary

If we say that vocabulary is the brick of building, thus the grammer is the building blueprint. If you study hard in the junior and senior school, that the grammer is no problem. But they didn’t know that if they cannot understand those things, that means they learned nothing. So, we must pay much attention to accumulation and understanding.

Listening
Learning listening is just like learning vocabulary. It should pass a very boring stage. We should listen day by day, month by month, year by year. Listening is started step by step. When we reach a better level, we should listen deeply. Such as VOA Special English. Now we have a very convenient condition to learn listening, that is we all have radio. We can listen day by day, it’s very convenient. If you have no radio, you can buy it. Besides VOA, BBC is also a good programme. When you listen, you should realize the differences of American English and British English. Then, you also can watch the English progammes of Australian, Russian, German, Japanese and so on. But please don’t listen to these at the beginning, or you will make some jokes. 4.
Speaking
Oral English is very difficult for most Chinese because of the living environment. Many people reflected that how should we practice oral English alone. Yes, they are right. We cannot practice oral English alone. Of course it’s better to have a environment of learning English. But we cannot reach this now. I think the students may converse with others and teachers. Some schools have foreign teachers, too. It also can help you. But how about someone who teach themselves? Please find a compnion who also want to learn English. Translation

Writing
Writing isone way of providing variety in classroom procedures. It provides a student with physical evidence of his achievements and becomes a course whereby he can measure his improvement. It helps to consolidate the students' grasp of vocabulary and structure, and complements the other language skills.
Sentence is the base of an article. So we should begin our writing with sentences. First, students should be asked to express with sentences-sentences making, then to write short articles.

The more English material that you have around you, the faster you will learn and the more likely it is that you will begin “thinking in English.” .
Listen to Native Speakers as Much as Possible
There are some good English teachers that have had to learn English as a second language before they could teach it. One of the reasons is that native speakers have a natural flow to their speech that students of English should try to imitate. Music can be a very effective method of learning English. In fact, it is often used as a way of improving comprehension. The best way to learn though, is to get the lyrics (words) to the songs you are listening to and try to read them as the artist sings. Many people think that exercises and tests aren't much fun. However, by completing exercises and taking tests you can really improve your English. Often, it is by comparing your score on a test you took yesterday with one you took a month or six months ago that you realize just how much you have learned. Record Yourself
Nobody likes to hear their own voice on tape but like tests, it is good to compare your tapes from time to time. You may be so impressed with the progress you are making that you may not mind the sound of your voice as much.

This is different than watching the television or films because you can’t see the person that is speaking to you.
