男孩和荨麻(a boy and a nettle)
A boy was playing in the fields when he was stung by a nettle . He ran home to
tell his mother what had happened.
"I only touched it lightly," he said, "and the nasty thing stung me."
"It stung you because you only touched it lightly," his mother told him." Next time you touch a nettle grasp it as tightly as you can. Then it won't sting you at all."
Face danger boldly.
The fried-chicken restaurant where I was working had a big rush just before closing one day, leaving us with nothing to sell but wings. As I was about to lock the doors, aa quietly intoxicated customer came in and ordered dinner. When I asked if wings would be all right, he leaned over the counter and replied, "Lady, I came in here to eat, not fly."
Once upon a time there was a child who was willful and did not do what his mother wanted. For this reason God was displeased with him and caused him to become ill, and no doctor could help him, and in a short time he lay on his deathbed.
He was lowered into a grave and covered with earth, but his little arm suddenly came forth and reached up, and it didn't help when they put it back in and put fresh earth over it, for the little arm always came out again. So the mother herself had to go to the grave and beat the little arm with a switch, and as soon as she had done that, it withdrew, and the child finally came to rest beneath the earth.

Our School Life
I don't think our school life is colorful. Because we've got so many classes every day. I wonder whether we can change our school life someday. You see, from Monday to Friday, I have to stay at school. The only relaxation is to listen to the radio or play ball games. At weekends, we need to go to school to have classes, too. I know it's very important for us to study well now. As the saying goes, "All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy. "I want to step into the nature. I hope we will have
more activities such as visiting museums, taking part in different kinds of contests, attending some lectures and so on. Is it only a dream?
Sports in Our School
Everyone in our college goes in for sports. Every morning after we get up we do morning exercises and we do exercises again during the long break. We only have one P.E. class a week, but we do physical training every afternoon. The most popular sport seems to be basketball. Another popular game is football. The girls like playing badminton. And volleyball is also liked by many of us when the weather is warm.
Besides ball games, many of us are keen on track and field events. Every term we hold a sports meet.
We have school teams of basketball, volleyball and football. We often have friendly matches with teams from other schools. Whenever there is an important match at the Nangchang Stadium, you ’ re sure to find many of our schoolmates and teachers among the spectators. In short, we all love sports, and we train regularly to keep fit for work, study, and the defence of our country.

Hotels and holiday rentals are very affordable in this part of the city, Prices tend to move up as you get closer from the more trendy and chic Saint Germain des Pres.
My favourite season
Hello, my dear friends! What’s my favourite season? Let me tell you.My favourite season is spring. Spring is a lovely season, I think. There is a garden behind my house. In spring, the trees become green and the flowers give off fragrance(芳香). There are many butterflies and bees over the flowers. The butterflies are dancing and the bees are singing. Sometimes it rains. It usually rains quietly. The rain moistens(滋润) the trees and the flowers. I think they may say, “We’re very thirsty. The rain is very good. It can help us.” What a beautiful scene! Don’t you think so? And what about your favourite season, could you tell me?
